Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman was a U.S. Olympic team captain, who was awarded gold at the 2012 Olympics. She has won six Olympic medals all over the world as well as being a part of two gold-medal winning World Championships teams. She is a native of Needham, Massachusetts, Aly's interest in the sport is traced to a "mommy & me" gymnastics lesson she took at the age of 18 months. Aly Raisman has been a champion of body positivity. She is also an inspiration both on and off-the-floor and spoke against Larry Nassar during his sentencing hearing. Aly Raisman was born in 1994 and began her athletic career at a very young age. She played a role in helping the U.S. Gymnastics Team win the 2011 World Championships. Aly Raisman won two medals during 2012 at the London Summer Olympics two of which were for the team, and one for floor exercises. Raisman received silver in both the floor and individual finals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Also, she took home a gold medal in the competition for team gymnastics. Raisman revealed in 2017 that she was abused sexually by a former team doctor Larry Nassar. The following year, she brought the lawsuit against USA Gymnastics as well as the U.S. Olympic Committee.
