Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was an exceptional child. For a child from Irish heritage surrounded by gifted parents and family, those were not innate traits. Maureen was welcomed into the family-oriented home on the 17th of August 20, in Ranelagh. Her mother, Marguerita Lililburn FitzSimons a talented contralto. Charles FitzSimons owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer team in Ireland and ran an Dublin business. Maureen FitzSimons was second from a family of six FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off this stunning group. Maureen did well as a sporty woman and was a gruelling athlete in sports when she was a young. The passion for sports was matched by an unnatural talent for performing. This was demonstrated by her receiving nearly every Feis awards for drama and theatrical performing her country offered. When she turned 14, she was accepted to the prestigious Abbey Theater and pursued her dreams of classical theatre along with operatic music.
